Brief Information About Belmont

With a total area of about 21 sq. kms. Belmont is located at an elevated height of about 702 ft. from the ground level. It is located in the Conty of Gaston. The Catawba river flows through the city, which is located in the southern part of Piedmont region. Belmont had earlier developed itself as a well known textile center and was the principal employer of the area. Now there is also a power plant in the town. The transportation links are quite advanced with air, road and rail transport facilities in the region. Most of the locals are employed with the public school system of Gaston County School and a number of colleges in the area. Apart from education, tourism is also an important source of economic activity for the locals.
