Boardman is located in the County of Morrow. The city is located beside the river Columbia. The Interstate roadway No. 84 is located just beside the city. Boardman is a part of the Hermiston- Pandleton MSA. With a total area of about 10.3 sq. kms., Boeardman is located at a height of about 300 ft. from the ground level.
The city has an airport and a number of industries including power plants, chemical plants and also some high-tech industries. There is also an ethanol plant for the production of ethanol as a fuel. Other economic activities are centered around the service sector.
