Brooklyn is a town in Windham County, Connecticut state. At the 2000 census, its population was 7,173. It is one of the fastest-growing towns in the county. It comprises the following villages: Allen Hill, Barrett Hill, Brooklyn Center, Bush Hill, East Brooklyn, Stetson's Corners, Tatnic Hill, West Village and West Wauregan.
It is home to the Brooklyn Fair, America's oldest continuously operating agricultural fair, as well as the Brooklyn Correctional Institution, a state-run medium security prison.
