One or more farms are present in Cabot. These are areas of land devoted to agriculture and related occupations. The sum total of the land and the buildings that stand on it are known as the farmstead. The crops grown can be either foodcrops or cash crops. Major crops include corn, soybean, hay, cotton, rice and wheat. Animals may also be kept for dairy or meat. The work is usually accomplished by usage of machinery, or by manual labour. Migrant labour forms the major workforce at farms. Seeds, pesticides, fertilizers, irrigation and other special factors may be needed for agriculture.
