Cartwright is a small community village located in the Northwestern part of Mckenzie County in the U.S. state of North Dakota. The community town is named after a trapper, hunter and rancher S.G. Cartwright. It is situated at an elevated height of about 1907 ft.
Cartwright has a Post Office. Economically not so advanced, the thinly populated area is mainly an agricultural land. Farming is one of the most important sector of the local economy.
