A Mindful Approach is a system of leading edge treatment & teaching techniques geared towards children & adolescents ages 5-18 who suffer from depression, anxiety and/or chronic pain. Arming a child with self-empowering tools to manage negative emotions is gratifying to the child & successful at eliminating these unwanted feelings, emotions & symptoms over the long-term. Here’s why: Possessing tools that can be applied anytime & anywhere symptoms surface gives the child a sense of control over them, instead of feeling controlled by them. Childhood/Adolescent emotional & physical health issues that respond well to mindful approaches include, but are not limited to: stress, anger, fear, anxiety, depression, headaches, stomach aches, other somatic symptoms
My treatment & teaching techniques include, but are not limited to Cognitive-behavioral re-framing, Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping), Autogenics (self-hypnosis), Visualization, Journaling & Bibliotherapy.
