Cold Springs is a census-designated place (CDP) in Washoe County, Nevada. It is in the northwestern part of the Reno–Sparks Metropolitan Statistical Area, and its population at the 2010 census was 8,544. The CDP is adjacent to the state border with California.
There are plans to build many more homes as well as an industrial complex. This would change the area's semi-rural environment to a more industralized, suburban one, a controversial decision.
The population has a majority of White Americans. A small percentage of the population comprises people of Hispanic origin.
