Daleville is a city in Dale County, Alabama. It is part of the Enterprise-Ozark Metro Area, and it has the nickname of "Gateway to Fort Rucker". This is because the U.S. Army post named Fort Rucker is located just to the north of this city. This area was originally known as "Dale's Court House", and was the county seat till 1841. The settlement was estbalished in 1830. It has a total area of 13.5 square miles, all of which is land. The Choctawhatchee River is to the east of Daleville. The settlement was initially a farming community, which expanded and became more cosmopolitan due to the effect of the Army post nearby.

Transportation, warehousing, public administration services, construction and manufacturing are the major economic activities of the region. It has a self-contained district of public schools, comprising one elementary and one high school.
