With a total area of about 19 sq. miles, Dewey is a small town of Yavapai County in the state of Arizona. Though the iron ore mine was closed around the year 1968, the tailings of the mine are being used to process iron rich fertilizers. There is enough controversy about the nature of the Ironite fertilizer, which is considered harmful with arsenic, lead and other harmful chemicals. Dewey is also famous for its Young's farm. This farm is selling pumpkins and turkeys since the last six decades. There was also a restaurant selling country food but time has taken its toll on it. There are many historic buildings in the main street area of the town. Agriculture is the mainstay of the town's economy.
