Fort Basinger was a fort located in the U.S. state of Florida. It is in Highlands County approximately 10 miles north-west of Okeechobee. Fort Basinger derived its named from Lieutenant William E. Basinger. It coordinates at 27°21′46″N 81°03′10″W. The elevation is 39 feet above sea level. Fort Basinger was established in 1837 but ended in 1850.
