Gloversville is a city located in Fulton County, New York, United States. It was formerly the hub of the United States' glove-making industry, with more than two hundred manufacturers. Gloversville historically known as "Kingsborough", was acquired by Sir William Johnson, 1st Baronet. In 1752, Arent Stevens purchased land. Puritans from New England settled there at the end of the 18th century. In 1853, Gloversville was incorporated as a village and became incorporated as a city in 1890.
