Category: Pressure Washing

Pressure washing, also known as power washing, is a popular technique for both industrial and exterior home cleaning and maintenance. Basic pressure washers intended for general consumer use are comprised of an electric or gasoline-powered engine that drives a water pump, a high-pressure hose, and a trigger-style switch; larger, more powerful machines may also run on diesel fuel or gas. Electric pressure washing units plug into regular power outlets, use tap water, and can deliver pressure reaching 2000 psi (pounds per square inch). Some gasoline units will deliver pressure of up to 4000 psi, but their engine exhaust makes them unsuitable for use in enclosed areas. All pressure washers can be dangerous machines capable of causing severe injury, and must be operated with extreme care. Pressure washers should never be sprayed less than 12 inches from the intended surface, as the high pressure spray can damage wood and other surfaces.
