Hawi is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hawaii County, Hawaii. The CDP's population during the 2000 census was 938.
Hawi and Kapaau together comprise the most densely populated region in the district of North Kohala. The two communities were once busy commercial centers during the operation of the Kohala Sugar plantation.
Hawi is also well-known as the turnaround point for the Ironman World Championship Triathlon.
