Paul A. Tennant, M.D., is a head and neck surgical oncologist with Norton Cancer Institute. He specializes in microvascular reconstructive surgery to treat complex benign and malignant conditions of the head and neck.
Dr. Tennant earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine, Memphis, and completed his residency training in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed a fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston.
Before joining Norton Cancer Institute, Dr. Tennant served as a faculty member at the UofL School of Medicine Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He served as president of the Kentucky Society of Otolaryngology from 2017 to 2018. Dr. Tennant is the author of many peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and has worked collaboratively with many health care providers in the community and region to improve outcomes for head and neck cancer patients.
He works alongside a wide range of specialists, including otolaryngologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, cancer rehabilitation specialists, an oncologic dermatologist, nutritionists and speech-language pathologists.
