Located in the Riverside County of California in the US, Moreno Valley is a comparatively young and the second largest city by population in the County. It is also a part of the Greater Los Angeles area. The Valley covers a total area of 133 km2 of which only 0.52 km2 is water and the rest is land.It is surrounded on all sides by a pass, valleys and mountains; the Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles Counties lie to its west. The Box Springs Mountain in the northwest towers over the city and has a large 'M' constructed upon it which makes it the most visible geographical feature in the Valley.Moreno has galleries, restaurants, shopping malls, parks, pizza joints, ice-cream parlors, gymnasiums and condominiums. Moreno has a mild, semi-arid Mediterranean climate with August being the warmest and December the coolest months in the Valley.The 2010 US Census reported the population at 193,365 with an average density of 3756 people per square mile; racial makeup comprising of 18.9% non-Hispanic White, 18% Afro-Americans, 0.9% Native Americans, 6.1% Asians, 0.6% Pacific Islanders and 26.8% of other races. Renowned companies like Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Ross Stores have their offices here in the Valley; major businesses include advertising, health services, dealership, mortgage, real estate, designing, shipping services, renting and leasing among many others.
