Dr. Padda attended Swarthmore College, where he graduated with Sigma Xi Honors. Following undergraduate studies, he received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine with Cum Laude Honors. He completed residency training in Adult Psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and fellowship training in Consultation-Liaison (CL) Psychiatry at New York University Grossman School of Medicine.Dr. Padda developed an interest in treating mental health conditions in medically ill populations early in his career. While in residency, he co-developed a group psychotherapy for patients suffering psychological distress from Long Covid. This initiative led to further research into the evaluation and treatment of psychiatric co-morbidity in Long Covid. He has presented and published on this topic for the World Health Organization Global Brain Health Research Coalition, the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and the American Psychological Association COVID Task Force. He additionally has published and presented on a variety of other CL psychiatry topics, spanning neuropsychiatry, addiction, and transplant psychiatry.Dr. Padda also has an interest in athlete mental health and offers performance coaching for athletes and professionals. He has received specialized training in evidence-based therapeutic techniques to foster confidence, focus, resilience, and enjoyment to improve performance in work and sport.
