Pinson is a city in the Jefferson county of Alabama, United States. Located close to the largest city in Alabama – Birmingham, Pinson covers a total area of 7 square miles, all of it land. It is elevated 720 ft above the sea level.

As per the 2010 census, Pinson recorded a population of 7163.

Pinson has its own schools that support its education system – high school, middle schools and even elementary schools. In 2011, Pinson opened its Public library. The area is served by three newspapers.

Ed Chandler – former Baseball player and Melinda Toole Gunter, former Miss Alabama are among the notable residents/natives of this city.
