Dr. Stocks is native of Huron, SD who received his medical degree from the University of Colorado’s School Of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, CO. In July of 1980, he began practicing internal medicine in Rapid City, SD. Following a number of visits to Haiti for medical work, Dr. Stocks took an intensive tropical medicine course at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH and earned a Diploma in Clinic Tropical Medicine and Travel Medicine from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. This resulted in the establishment of the Black Hills Travel Medicine Clinic which he has continued at Monument Health Rapid City Clinic, Flormann Street. He has practiced internal medicine and travel medicine in Rapid City for the past 12 years alongside his right arm and office nurse, Sylvia, who has been with him for over 38 years.
