Savoonga is a city located in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is within Nome Census Area on St. Lawrence Island in the Bering Sea about 39 miles in the southeast Gambell. It was incorporated in 1969 and became joint owner of St. Lawrence Island along with the island's only other city during 1971. Savoonga coordinates at 63°41′48″N 170°27′39″W. Education of Savoonga is provided by the Bering Strait School District. As of the census of 2010, the total population of Savoonga was 671. The population density was 115.65/sq mi.
