With an estimated population of 236,839 located close to the Greater Phoenix Area in Arizona, Scottsdale is a happening place with an active night life. It's easily the 'West's most western town!'
 It covers an area of 31 miles in length and 11.4 miles in width, Scottsdale is bordered by Phoenix, Maricopa County land, Carefree, the Tonto National Forest on the west, east and northern fringes.  
 It has seen rapid expansion and growth over the years and has even received "Most Livable City" award from the United States Conference of Mayors. It is also the state's sixth largest city.  
The city is divided into four areas each known for different reasons: the South Scottsdale is the working class region, Old Town Scottsdale is the cultural hub, the Central Scottsdale for real estate, and North Scottsdale for its commercial and residential boom in recent years. 
 Climate is mostly barren. 
 Tourism industry accounts for 39% of the city's workforce and boasts of a large hospitality market catering to the high-end section of demography. Aviation and retail industries are some of the other well-known ones.
