Sterrett is an unincorporated village and census-designated place in Alabama. It is within Shelby County at 33°26′55″N 86°28′48″W. The elevation is 518 feet above sea level. Sterrett was a former home of Twin Pines Conference Center which discovered by Robert "Bob" Saunders. The name Sterrett was taken in honor of a prominent local family of Alphonso A. Sterrett in the Alabama Legislature. Sterrett also was known as "Jugtown" the center of the pottery production in central Alabama. As of the census of 2010, Sterrett had a total population of 1,043. Estimated per capita income was $34,875. Sterrett Zip code is 35147.
