What Is: Medicare Health Insurance?
Medicare Health Insurance is a United States federal government program that provides health care coverage for people aged 65 and older and certain younger people with disabilities. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is the federal agency that runs Medicare. Medicare covers the hospital stays, medical services, and some prescription drugs but people who receive Medicare must pay part of their healthcare costs. This is funded in part by Social Security and Medicare taxes you pay on your income.
