The city of Trussville is located in the U.S. state of Alabama. It is nestled in both counties of Jefferson and St. Clair included in the Birmingham-Hoover Metropolitan Statistical Area. Trussville coordinates at 33°37′18″N 86°35′47″W and elevated by 699 feet above sea level. The total area is approximately 22.3 square miles. The city is known as one of the most livable cities in the state and country and among of the ten best towns in Alabama for young families. It was first settled in 1821 by a European settler named Warren Truss and his brothers built a grist mill on the Cahaba River. Trussville became an incorporated as a town in 1947. It officially became a city on May 31, 1957. On the recent census, Trussville has a total population of 21,422. The population density is 642.88/sq mi. Zip code is 35173.
