The city of White Mountain is located in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is included in the Nome Census Area on the eastern bank of the Fish River. The total area is 2.0 square miles at 64°40′51″N 163°24′24″W. It is elevated 62 feet above sea level. White Mountain was formerly the Eskimo fish camp Nachirvik meaning "mountain look-up point." It has a post office which opened in 1932. The city became incorporated on July 15, 1969. As of the 2010 census, there were 190 people living in the place. The population density was approximately 99.75/sq mi. White Mountain education is provided by the Bering Strait School District. Zip code is 99784.
