Bozeman is a city in and the county seat of Gallatin County, Montana. It is the main city of the Bozeman micropolitan area, and its population at the 2010 census was 37,280. It is the fourth largest city in the state. It is named after John M. Bozeman, one of the founders of the town.
The city has continued to experience a robust rate of growth in this century, with many residents moving here for the good quality of life, recreational options, and the scenic beauty of the surrounding area. Bozeman is a gateway community through which visitors pass on the way to Yellowstone National Park, renowned for its abundant wildlife and thermal features. A number of movies have been filmed in the area, and frequent references have been made to Bozeman in science fiction.
