Anthony is a city in Doña Ana County, New Mexico. Its population at the 2000 census was 7,904. The city is part of the Las Cruces Metropolitan Statistical Area, and it is located on the New Mexico–Texas state line in the Upper Mesilla Valley, and on Interstate 10, 27 miles south of Las Cruces and 21 miles north of El Paso, Texas. It was incorporated in July 2010.
The CDP has a total area of 4.0 square miles (10 km2), all of it land.
The economy is based on local businesses, professional services, sales and service, and production, construction and transport of materials. Farming, fishing and forestry are also minor contributors to the economy.
