The area has a number of rivers like the Yellow Creek, Little Yellow Creek and the Waterway of Tombigbee - Tennessee. The town is well developed with a number of schools operating under the school district of Tishomingo County. There is also the Burnsville Public Library in the town. There are two major roadways bisecting the town and well connected railroad facility. The media industry is quire advanced with a number of local FM radio stations in the town.
