Alexander is a town in Genesee County, New York. It is part of the Batavia Metro Area. The name is after an early settler, Alexander Rea. It includes a village by the same name. It was settled in 1802, and incorporated in 1812. It has a total area of 35.5 square miles, most of which is land. Water bodies include the Tonawanda Creek. Attica, Brookville, East Alexander and Little Tonawanda Creek are some of the communities included within the town.
